Apple announced yesterday that the App Store reached another major milestone, passing 40 billion downloads since it launched in 2008. The more telling aspect, though, is that nearly 20 billion of those downloads took place in 2012 alone. Just last month over the holidays, the App Store had an all-time record of two-billion monthly downloads. …
